Is born-again-payback-time- Worth Your Time?

FlexTV's "Born Again, Payback Time" opens with a tantalizing promise: a woman wronged in her past life gets a second chance to dismantle the sister and fiancé who destroyed her family. The premise is pure catnip for vertical short drama fans—revenge, hidden recordings, and a lavish engagement party where the truth explodes. From the first episode, the show hooks viewers with its brisk pacing and the delicious anticipation of the comeuppance, as the heroine's quiet determination and the villains' smug cruelty set the stage for a satisfying unraveling.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core tropes, particularly the betrayal and revenge arcs. Audiences cheer for the heroine's agency—she's not a passive victim but a calculating avenger—and the chemistry with the loyal childhood friend adds a sweet counterpoint to the scheming. However, some viewers note that the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings and over-the-top melodrama, and the hidden identity trope feels underdeveloped. Still, the engagement party climax is widely praised as a standout moment, with the public exposure of the villains' crimes providing a cathartic payoff. The villains' arrests and the heroine's reunion with her childhood friend are seen as fitting, if predictable, conclusions.

For those who relish a tightly wound revenge fantasy with a side of romance, "Born Again, Payback Time" justifies the coins spent. It's best suited for fans of short-form dramas who enjoy swift justice and don't mind a few melodramatic bumps along the way. While it may not break new ground, its bingeable nature and satisfying conclusion make it a worthy watch, especially for those who appreciate a heroine who takes control of her destiny.
