Borrowed Face, Unmasked Love

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Borrowed Face, Unmasked Love Worth Your Time?

Borrowed Face, Unmasked Love opens with the kind of irresistible hook vertical drama was built for: a woman wearing her twin's identity, a billionaire who sees through the mask, and a gala countdown that promises fireworks. DramaBox's 48-episode structure lets the premise breathe just enough, doling out near-misses and loaded glances in tight two-minute bursts that keep the scroll reflex at bay. The early episodes lean hard into the borrowed-face tension, and the narrative momentum rarely sags because every cliffhanger is engineered to make the next tap feel mandatory rather than optional.

Across Reddit threads and MyDramaList boards, the community consensus lands somewhere between delighted and exasperated. Viewers consistently praise Mia's agency in the back half, arguing she earns her unmasking rather than waiting to be rescued, and the Ethan-Mia chemistry is frequently cited as the engine that keeps the twin-swap premise from collapsing into gimmick. The betrayal and hidden-identity tropes are handled with satisfying venom, especially once Lily crashes the gala and the schemers' house of cards tumbles. Where audiences split is pacing: several reviewers note the middle stretch spins its wheels with repeated near-reveals, and the billionaire-boardroom subplot feels thinner than the romance. The fraud-and-embezzlement wrap-up draws cheers for its tidy justice but some eye-rolls for how quickly the villains fold.

For viewers who live for identity-swap melodrama with a competent heroine and a CEO who actually chooses her, this one justifies the coins. It is best suited to binge-watchers who savor twin-swap chaos and public comeuppance, less so to those allergic to repeated misunderstanding beats. The gala payoff and the honest, deception-free finale give it genuine replay value, even if the midsection tests patience. A solid, crowd-pleasing entry in the billionaire-romance canon.
