Broken

Is Broken Worth Your Time?

CandyJar's "Broken" opens with a tantalizing premise: two summer lovers, Lily and Mason, discover their families are the heads of rival factions, forcing them to choose between loyalty and love. The early episodes hook viewers with a bucket list pact that promises adventure and intimacy, while the looming secret of their families' feud adds a delicious layer of tension. The narrative momentum is relentless, each short episode ending on a cliffhanger that makes it nearly impossible not to click "next." This is vertical drama at its most addictive, blending romance and suspense with a hint of Romeo and Juliet tragedy.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the chemistry between Lily and Mason is electric, carrying the show through its more melodramatic turns. Fans celebrate the strong character agency, especially Lily's refusal to be a passive pawn, and the satisfying exposure of the scheming relatives. However, some viewers note that the misunderstanding tropes become repetitive, and the pacing in the middle episodes drags as the feud is rehashed. The revenge elements are handled with gusto, but the hidden identity reveal feels rushed in the final act. Still, the public confrontation and the bucket list exposure deliver the emotional payoff audiences crave, even if the journey there is uneven.

For those who relish a binge-worthy mix of romance and rivalry, "Broken" justifies the time and coins, especially if you're a fan of star-crossed lovers and satisfying villain comeuppance. The replay value is moderate—the climax is rewarding, but the middle sag may deter rewatching. Best suited for devoted short-drama enthusiasts who appreciate intense chemistry and don't mind a few melodramatic bumps, this is a solid 8.3, earning a place in your guilty-pleasure queue.
