Ex Regrets After I Struck It Rich

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Ex Regrets After I Struck It Rich Worth Your Time?

The premise of "Ex Regrets After I Struck It Rich" is a sugar-coated revenge fantasy that hooks viewers from the first episode: a woman scorned, who quietly amasses a fortune, only to have her ex humiliate himself at a charity gala when her true identity as a billionaire investor is revealed. The show's early episodes lean heavily on the thrill of hidden power, teasing the inevitable comeuppance with just enough tension to keep you tapping for the next short. The narrative momentum is relentless, each cliffhanger engineered to make the next coin drop feel essential.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core promise: satisfying revenge and a protagonist who, unlike many in the genre, maintains agency and never loses her cool. The trope of hidden identity is executed with gleeful excess, and the betrayal by the ex and his new partner is painted in broad, satisfying strokes. Audiences celebrate the chemistry between the lead and her loyal friend, whose genuine affection predates her wealth, offering a refreshing counterpoint to the transactional relationships around her. However, critics note that the middle episodes sag under repetitive misunderstandings and melodramatic padding, with some viewers feeling the villains' downfall is too swift and cartoonish. The pacing, while brisk, sometimes sacrifices nuance for shock value, leaving emotional beats feeling rushed.

For those who crave a quick, cathartic binge, this drama justifies the coins: it's a polished, trope-heavy ride with a deeply satisfying climax and a heroine who walks away with both wealth and genuine love. Best suited for fans of revenge fantasies and hidden-identity romances who don't mind a bit of melodrama, it offers high replay value for the gala reveal alone. If you're in the mood for a guilty pleasure that delivers exactly what it promises, this one is worth your time.
