Forbidden Touch

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Forbidden Touch Worth Your Time?

Forbidden Touch opens with a premise that is pure catnip for vertical drama addicts: a wife discovers her husband's eight-year affair and, in a twist of taboo desire, finds herself drawn to her stepson, Ethan. The early episodes hook viewers with a steady drip of betrayal and forbidden glances, building momentum through the blackout secret that threatens to upend everything. It's the kind of narrative that thrives on cliffhangers, and GoodShort's 50-episode format ensures that each short installment ends on a note that makes it nearly impossible not to tap for the next.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama's success hinges on the chemistry between the leads and the deliciously messy trope execution. Fans celebrate the revenge arc—watching the husband's public disgrace and the other woman's exposure is a satisfying payoff—and many praise the stepson, Ethan, for being more than just a pretty face; his agency in pursuing the forbidden relationship adds layers to the taboo. However, critics note that the middle episodes sag under repetitive misunderstandings and melodramatic pacing, with some feeling that the blackout secret is stretched too thin. Still, the community agrees that the show knows exactly what it is: a guilty pleasure that delivers on its promises.

As a columnist, I'd say Forbidden Touch justifies its coin cost for those who revel in toxic love and revenge fantasies. It's not high art, but it's highly bingeable, with a satisfying climax that ties up loose ends in a neat, if predictable, bow. Best suited for fans of forbidden romance and small-potato protagonists who rise, this drama offers solid replay value for those who enjoy watching the villains get their comeuppance. If you're in for a wild, taboo ride, this one's worth the trip.
