From Fat to Fab: Ex-Wife's Revenge

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is From Fat to Fab: Ex-Wife's Revenge Worth Your Time?

The premise of "From Fat to Fab: Ex-Wife's Revenge" is a siren song for vertical short drama enthusiasts: a woman publicly humiliated for her appearance returns as a sleek, wealthy CEO to exact meticulously plotted revenge. The early episodes hook viewers with a rapid-fire setup—betrayal, transformation, and a glitzy gala confrontation—delivering the kind of narrative momentum that keeps thumbs scrolling. It's a classic wish-fulfillment fantasy, but the show's execution, with its sharp visual contrasts and unapologetic melodrama, makes the familiar feel fresh and addictive.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama's success hinges on its protagonist's agency. Unlike some revenge tales where the heroine is passively rescued, here she orchestrates her own comeback, and audiences celebrate her cunning and poise. The tropes—hidden identity, betrayal, and revenge—are handled with knowing efficiency, though some viewers note that the middle episodes sag under repetitive misunderstandings and over-the-top villainy. The chemistry between the ex-wife and her new supportive partner is a highlight, offering a sweet counterpoint to the bitter revenge plot. However, pacing inconsistencies and occasional melodramatic excess are common critiques, with some feeling the climax, while satisfying, wraps up too neatly.

For those who relish a well-executed revenge fantasy with a satisfying comeuppance, this drama justifies the time and coins. It's best suited for fans of strong female leads and high-society scheming, who will appreciate the glossy production and cathartic payoff. While not without flaws, its bingeable nature and empowering arc make it a worthy addition to the short-form drama canon, though replay value may be limited once the twists are known.
