Having His Baby Becoming His Darling

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Having His Baby Becoming His Darling Worth Your Time?

From the first frames, "Having His Baby Becoming His Darling" hooks viewers with a tantalizing premise: a hidden heir, a billionaire in the dark, and a mother pushed to the edge. The early episodes waste no time, plunging into the chaos of a custody battle where the female lead's secret becomes her weapon. This vertical short drama understands the addictive rhythm of cliffhangers, delivering rapid-fire twists that keep audiences swiping for the next episode. The narrative momentum is relentless, each scene engineered to maximize emotional payoff and keep the stakes sky-high.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus: the drama is a guilty pleasure that delivers on its revenge and hidden identity tropes, though not without flaws. Audiences celebrate the female lead's agency—she's not a passive victim but a strategist who plays her cards close to her chest. The chemistry between her and the billionaire is palpable, especially in moments of tension where his remorse battles his pride. However, viewers note that the scheming ex and her family are painted with broad strokes, their villainy bordering on cartoonish. Pacing issues arise in the middle episodes, where misunderstandings feel stretched thin, and the melodrama occasionally tips into overwrought territory. Still, the climax—a public DNA reveal that shatters the villains' credibility—earns widespread praise for its satisfying comeuppance.

Ultimately, this drama justifies its coins for fans of high-stakes revenge romance. It's best suited for viewers who relish over-the-top betrayals and a heroine who outsmarts her foes. While the writing isn't subtle, the emotional beats land, and the resolution—complete with a public proposal and a united family—delivers the catharsis short-form audiences crave. Binge-worthy? Absolutely, if you're in the mood for a wild, trope-filled ride.
