In Love With Two, But They Are Game Characters

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is In Love With Two, But They Are Game Characters Worth Your Time?

What if the two perfect men you fell for in a game were actually the same person? That's the irresistible hook of "In Love With Two, But They Are Game Characters," a vertical short drama that wastes no time plunging viewers into a deliciously twisted romance. The premise alone—virtual avatars masking a real-world puppeteer—is catnip for short-form audiences, and the early episodes capitalize on it with rapid-fire reveals and emotional whiplash. The narrative momentum is relentless, each cliffhanger daring you to swipe for just one more episode, even as you suspect you're being played alongside the heroine.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama's handling of revenge and hidden identity is both its strength and its weakness. Fans celebrate the female lead's eventual agency—her choice to walk away and build her own gaming channel is a refreshing break from the typical damsel arc—and the chemistry between her and the remorseful player is palpable, even when he's hiding behind two different avatars. The betrayal by the best friend lands with satisfying venom, and the public convention confrontation is a crowd-pleaser. However, critics note that the middle episodes sag under repetitive misunderstandings and melodramatic padding, with some viewers feeling the game-world logic is stretched thin. The revenge plot, while cathartic, occasionally tips into over-the-top territory that strains credulity. Still, the core tropes are executed with enough flair to keep most viewers engaged, and the reconciliation arc, though predictable, earns its emotional beats.

For those who relish a bingeable mix of romance, betrayal, and digital-age deception, this drama justifies the coins—especially if you savor a villain getting her comeuppance live on stage. It's best suited for fans of short-form romance who don't mind a few pacing hiccups and appreciate a heroine who ultimately chooses herself. The replay value is moderate; the twists lose some shock on a second watch, but the chemistry and the satisfying downfall of the scheming friend make it worth a return visit. In the crowded landscape of vertical dramas, this one stands out for its clever premise and a finale that delivers both justice and a genuine shot at love.
