Kiss of Revenge

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Kiss of Revenge Worth Your Time?

DramaBox's "Kiss of Revenge" opens with a familiar but irresistible hook: a wronged heroine, a hidden identity, and a love that blooms in the shadow of betrayal. Within the first few episodes, the show establishes its central mystery—who is the true heiress?—and dangles it like a carrot, pulling viewers through 77 bite-sized chapters. The pacing is relentless, each episode ending on a cliffhanger that makes it nearly impossible not to tap "next." It's the kind of premise that short-form drama does best: high stakes, rapid-fire reveals, and a revenge plot that promises to deliver satisfying comeuppance.

Across discussion boards and clip reactions, viewers consistently praise the heroine's agency—she's not merely a pawn but an active architect of her own revenge. The chemistry between the leads is another highlight, with many noting the tension between forbidden love and the need for secrecy. The hidden identity trope is executed with enough twists to keep audiences guessing, though some critics point out that the middle stretch drags with repetitive misunderstandings and melodramatic detours. The stepmother villain is deliciously hateable, but her schemes occasionally strain credulity. Still, the community consensus is that the payoff—a public gala reveal that turns the tables—is worth the ride, even if the journey has a few bumpy patches.

As a critic, I find "Kiss of Revenge" a solid entry in the revenge-romance canon. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it spins it with flair. The final act delivers the catharsis audiences crave, and the romantic resolution feels earned. For fans of forbidden love and hidden identities, this is a binge-worthy treat. However, if you're allergic to melodrama or prefer tighter plotting, you might find the 77-episode commitment a tad excessive. Overall, it's a satisfying watch that justifies its coins, especially for those who relish a good revenge fantasy.
