Lovestruck Him

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Lovestruck Him Worth Your Time?

Lovestruck Him opens with a tantalizing premise: a heroine who believes she's entangled with a poor nobody, only to discover he's a reclusive billionaire heir. This hidden-identity hook, paired with revenge and betrayal, is catnip for vertical short drama fans. The early episodes waste no time, plunging viewers into a world of schemes and secrets, where every glance and whispered conversation carries weight. The narrative momentum is relentless, each cliffhanger designed to keep thumbs scrolling, and the promise of a grand reveal at the charity gala looms like a delicious threat. It's the kind of setup that makes you lean in, eager to see the moment the truth shatters everything.

Across discussion boards, viewers are divided on how well the tropes are executed. Many celebrate the chemistry between the leads, praising the male lead's stoic charm and the female lead's gradual transformation from prejudiced schemer to remorseful lover. The revenge plot and the villainous ex-girlfriend's embezzlement scheme provide satisfying schadenfreude, especially when the comeuppance is broadcast to stunned guests. However, some criticize the pacing, noting that the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings and that the female lead's agency feels inconsistent—she's sharp one moment, naive the next. The hidden identity trope is handled with typical melodrama, but the betrayal arc resonates, even if it relies on familiar beats. Fans appreciate the emotional payoff but wish for more nuanced character development.

For those who relish a classic billionaire romance with a side of revenge, Lovestruck Him delivers guilty-pleasure satisfaction. It's best suited for binge-watchers who enjoy over-the-top reveals and don't mind a few plot holes along the way. The finale, with its tearful reconciliation and private wedding, offers a satisfying closure that justifies the coins spent—though replay value is moderate, as the shock of the reveal diminishes on second viewing. If you're in the mood for a quick, dramatic escape, this one's worth a watch.
