My Double Proxy Marriage to a Billionaire

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is My Double Proxy Marriage to a Billionaire Worth Your Time?

ReelShort's "My Double Proxy Marriage to a Billionaire" dangles a tantalizing premise: a proxy marriage to a billionaire who is secretly the elusive CEO of Knight Enterprises. The early episodes hook viewers with the thrill of hidden identity and the delicious tension of a fake relationship that feels all too real. Ella Davenport's plight—trapped by a toxic family and a scumbag fiancé—sets the stage for a classic love-after-marriage arc, and the narrative momentum builds steadily as secrets simmer beneath high-society galas and workplace power plays. It's the kind of setup that short-form romance thrives on: quick emotional payoffs, escalating stakes, and a heroine worth rooting for.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the chemistry between Ella and Adrian is the series' beating heart. Fans celebrate Ella's gradual agency, transforming from a pawn into a woman who confronts her husband's deception with fiery resolve. The tropes—hidden identity, betrayal, revenge—are executed with satisfying reveals, especially the climactic gala where Adrian's true identity and the signed proxy documents turn the tables on the villains. However, some viewers note pacing issues in the middle stretch, where misunderstandings feel stretched thin and melodrama tips into excess. The dysfunctional-family subplot, while cathartic, occasionally veers into caricature, and the scumbag fiancé's schemes become repetitive. Still, the emotional beats land, and the tearful reunion and vow-renewal finale deliver the genre's promised happily-ever-after.

For those who relish a bingeable romance with a protective billionaire and a heroine who finds her voice, this drama justifies the coins. It's best suited for fans of love-after-marriage and hidden-identity tropes who can forgive a saggy midsection for a satisfying payoff. The replay value lies in the chemistry and the cathartic comeuppance, though the 68-episode length may test patience. Overall, it's a solid entry in ReelShort's catalog—not revolutionary, but undeniably entertaining.
