My Fiancé Lied, So I Chose His Brother

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is My Fiancé Lied, So I Chose His Brother Worth Your Time?

What if the bloodmoon didn't just awaken your power, but also your fiancé's betrayal? That's the deliciously pulpy premise of "My Fiancé Lied, So I Chose His Brother," a 60-episode vertical drama from DramaBox that sinks its fangs into the halfblood vampire Catherine. When she fakes amnesia to uncover the truth, she finds her fiancé Raven and adoptive sister Ilona conspiring to steal her rare power—and Ilona is none other than the surviving ShadowClan princess. Enter Cassian, the brother who might be her salvation. It's a soapy, supernatural revenge cocktail that hooks from the first bloodmoon.

Audience chatter around this series is a mix of gleeful indulgence and knowing eye-rolls. Fans devour the classic tropes: the fake amnesia as a tool for empowerment, the ultimate betrayal by those closest to her, and the satisfying switch to the brother who actually deserves her. The community loves the forbidden magic and the high priest's power-hungry schemes, but some critique the pacing—60 episodes can feel stretched, especially when the ShadowClan backstory gets convoluted. Yet the chemistry between Catherine and Cassian, and the satisfying downfall of Raven and Ilona, keep viewers coming back. The vertical format amplifies the cliffhangers, making each episode a quick, addictive bite.

As a columnist, I say this is trashy fun with a feminist twist—Catherine doesn't just get revenge; she overthrows an autocratic system and ushers in a new era of co-ruling. It's not high art, but it knows exactly what it is: a bingeable, blood-soaked romance with a satisfying comeuppance. For fans of vampire drama and betrayal narratives, this is a guilty pleasure worth sinking your teeth into.
