My X-Ray Vision Sees Right Through You

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is My X-Ray Vision Sees Right Through You Worth Your Time?

ReelShort's "My X-Ray Vision Sees Right Through You" dangles a irresistible hook: a protagonist whose supernatural sight cuts through campus lies, starting with a contract romance that's anything but transparent. The early episodes waste no time, pairing the gimmick with a classic fake-dating setup that immediately entangles our hero with a hidden heiress. That fusion of superpower and secret identity creates a propulsive momentum, each cliffhanger daring viewers to unlock the next episode. It's the kind of high-concept premise that short-form drama thrives on—absurd yet addictive, and executed with just enough sincerity to keep you watching.

Across forums like Reddit and MyDramaList, the consensus is that the show's charm lies in its unabashed embrace of tropes. Fans celebrate the satisfying revenge arc and the slow-burn chemistry between the leads, particularly when the X-ray vision is used for comedic effect—peeling back layers of deception in increasingly outrageous ways. The hidden identity and contract lover dynamics are handled with a knowing wink, though some viewers note that the middle episodes sag under repetitive misunderstandings and the villain's schemes become cartoonishly convoluted. Still, the community largely agrees that the payoff—a public exposure at the charity gala—delivers the schadenfreude they signed up for, even if the journey there occasionally feels padded.

For those who relish a bingeable mix of superpowered silliness and romantic payoff, this drama justifies the coins. It's best suited for fans of campus romance with a twist, who don't mind a little melodrama with their revenge. While the pacing stumbles and the budget shows, the finale's catharsis and the leads' genuine chemistry make it a satisfying, if guilty, pleasure. Replay value is moderate—you'll likely skip to the gala reveal—but for a quick, entertaining ride, it's worth the watch.
