Plus-Size Me Became My Boyfriend’s Brother’s Dream Girl

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Plus-Size Me Became My Boyfriend’s Brother’s Dream Girl Worth Your Time?

The premise of "Plus-Size Me Became My Boyfriend’s Brother’s Dream Girl" is a tantalizing cocktail of wish-fulfillment and revenge that short-form audiences devour. From the first episode, the show hooks viewers with the familiar sting of being overlooked and underestimated, then promises a deliciously public reckoning. The hidden identity trope—where the heroine’s transformation is kept under wraps until the perfect moment—creates a magnetic narrative momentum. Each cliffhanger inches us closer to the inevitable gala reveal, and the anticipation of watching the shallow boyfriend and his accomplices get their comeuppance is what keeps fingers tapping for the next episode.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core promises but with uneven execution. Fans celebrate the satisfying schadenfreude of the climax, where the heroine’s makeover and the brother’s public confession expose the cheating boyfriend’s hypocrisy. The chemistry between the heroine and the brother is often praised as genuine and sweet, though some viewers note that the brother’s unwavering devotion borders on too-perfect. Critics point out that the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings and that the villains are cartoonishly one-dimensional. The revenge arc is cathartic, but the pacing stumbles as it stretches the reveal across too many episodes, and the melodrama occasionally tips into overwrought territory. Still, the community agrees that the show knows exactly what it is and delivers the guilty-pleasure goods.

For those who relish a classic ugly-duckling-to-swan story with a side of romantic revenge, this drama is a worthwhile binge. It’s best suited for viewers who enjoy over-the-top melodrama and don’t mind a few pacing hiccups. The replay value is moderate—the climax is rewatchable, but the journey there may feel padded. If you’re looking for a quick, satisfying dose of justice served with a side of romance, this one earns its place in your queue.
