Take the heart that broke three times

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Take the heart that broke three times Worth Your Time?

Ophelia's story begins with a literal broken heart—three times, as the title promises—and a mechanical replacement that keeps her alive but under Vincent's control. From the first episode, the drama hooks viewers with its high-stakes mafia romance and the tantalizing promise of revenge. The premise is pure short-form catnip: a woman discovers her lover's betrayal and the sinister truth behind her life-saving device. The narrative momentum is relentless, each episode ending on a cliffhanger that makes it nearly impossible not to click 'next.'

Across forums like Reddit and MyDramaList, viewers are divided on the execution. Many praise Ophelia's eventual agency—her public exposure of Vincent and Nova is a cathartic moment that had clip reactions cheering. The chemistry between the leads is often described as toxic but magnetic, perfectly fitting the 'chasing love' and 'regret' tropes. However, critics note that the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings and melodramatic twists that strain credulity. Some found Vincent's villainy cartoonish, while others appreciated the over-the-top nature as part of the genre's charm. The hidden identity of Ophelia's family and the mechanical heart's true purpose are clever hooks, though the reveal feels rushed in the finale.

For those who relish a dark, trope-heavy ride with a satisfying comeuppance, this drama justifies the coins. It's best suited for fans of mafia romance and revenge fantasies who can overlook pacing issues. The binge value is high—30 episodes fly by—but replay value is moderate; once the twists are known, the shock diminishes. Still, Ophelia's journey from victim to victor is a guilty pleasure worth indulging.
