EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is The Beauty CEO's Personal Bodyguard Worth Your Time?

StardustTV's "The Beauty CEO's Personal Bodyguard" opens with a tantalizing promise: a retired assassin turned protector, a powerful CEO in peril, and a slow-burn romance wrapped in corporate intrigue. The early episodes hook viewers by swiftly establishing the bodyguard's mysterious past and the CEO's vulnerability, creating immediate chemistry and tension. The premise—a legendary killer hiding in plain sight—fuels narrative momentum, as each cliffhanger inches closer to the inevitable reveal of his identity as 'Shadow.' It's a classic vertical drama setup, executed with enough flair to keep audiences tapping for the next episode.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the show thrives on its lead couple's chemistry and the satisfying execution of core tropes. Fans celebrate the CEO's agency—she's not merely a damsel—and the bodyguard's protective intensity, which sells the hidden identity and revenge arcs. The betrayal by the corrupt uncle and the eventual showdown deliver the expected catharsis. However, critics note pacing issues in the middle stretch, where misunderstandings feel forced and melodrama overshadows character development. Some viewers found the villain's machinations repetitive, and the romantic progression occasionally stalled by contrived obstacles. Yet, the community largely agrees that the climax—a full-throttle reveal of the bodyguard's past—redeems the slower moments, offering a satisfying payoff for those who invested.

For fans of vertical short dramas, this series justifies its 60-episode run with a compelling central romance and a protagonist whose dual identity keeps the stakes high. It's best suited for viewers who relish hidden identity tropes, protective male leads, and corporate revenge plots, and who can forgive occasional pacing lulls. While not groundbreaking, it delivers on its promises, making it a binge-worthy diversion with decent replay value for genre enthusiasts. If you're craving a quick fix of romantic suspense, this bodyguard is worth hiring.
