The Big Shot Is My Ex-Wife

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is The Big Shot Is My Ex-Wife Worth Your Time?

The Big Shot Is My Ex-Wife opens with a premise that vertical-drama addicts know by heart: the discarded wife who was secretly the architect of her husband's success. What hooks viewers early is the delicious irony of the ex-husband's oblivious arrogance, each episode tightening the screw as his new wife's schemes unfold. The show's narrative momentum comes from the slow-burn reveal of the ex-wife's true identity, a billionaire mastermind pulling strings from the shadows. It's a classic setup, but executed with enough bite to keep you tapping 'next episode' well past midnight.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core tropes—revenge, hidden identity, and betrayal—with satisfying precision. Audiences celebrate the ex-wife's agency; she's not a passive victim but a calculating force who outmaneuvers her rivals at every turn. The chemistry between the leads is charged, though some viewers note the ex-husband's obliviousness stretches credibility thin. The scheming new wife provides deliciously hateable villainy, but her downfall feels rushed in the final act. Fans praise the public humiliation sequence as a standout, yet criticize the middle episodes for recycling misunderstandings and dragging the pacing. Overall, it's a guilty pleasure that mostly earns its melodrama.

For those who crave a crisp, satisfying revenge fantasy with a powerful female lead, this drama justifies the coins. It's best suited for fans of hidden-identity tropes and schadenfreude-heavy payoffs. While the pacing stumbles and the ex-husband's denseness may test patience, the climactic reveal and the villain's comeuppance offer a binge-worthy rush. Replay value is moderate—once the twist is known, the thrill dims—but for a quick, cathartic fix, it's a solid bet.
