The Forgotten Fiancée

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is The Forgotten Fiancée Worth Your Time?

The Forgotten Fiancée on MiniShort dangles a tantalizing hook: a woman’s erased past collides with her present engagement, and the reveal hinges on a single, haunting song. From the first episode, the drama leans into the amnesia trope with a vengeance, using fragmented memories and a sinister rival to keep viewers swiping. The premise promises a slow-burn unraveling, and the early episodes deliver just enough mystery and romantic tension to make the vertical format feel like a guilty pleasure—each cliffhanger engineered to keep you coming back for more.

Across forums like Reddit and MyDramaList, viewers are divided on how well the execution holds up. Many praise the heroine’s gradual reclaiming of agency and the satisfying comeuppance of the scheming rival, especially the climactic engagement party where the truth drops like a bombshell. The chemistry between the leads is often highlighted as a standout, with fans rooting for their reconciliation. However, critics point to uneven pacing—some middle episodes feel like filler—and a reliance on melodramatic coincidences that strain credulity. The revenge and hidden identity tropes are handled with gusto, but the betrayal arc occasionally tips into over-the-top territory, leaving some viewers wishing for more subtlety.

Ultimately, The Forgotten Fiancée is a solid binge for fans of short-form revenge romance. It doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it delivers the emotional beats and cathartic reveals that make these dramas addictive. If you’re here for a wronged heroine who fights back and a villain who gets her just deserts, this one’s worth your coins. Just temper expectations for a tightly plotted masterpiece—it’s more of a guilty pleasure than a prestige drama.
