The Gourmet CEO Turns out to Be My Baby's Dad

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is The Gourmet CEO Turns out to Be My Baby's Dad Worth Your Time?

ReelShort's "The Gourmet CEO Turns out to Be My Baby's Dad" hooks viewers with a premise that is pure catnip for vertical-drama fans: a struggling single mother, a genius child, and a hidden billionaire father who happens to be a culinary superstar. The early episodes waste no time establishing Skylar's uphill battle against her treacherous family and a sleazy director, while teasing the CEO's dual identity. The narrative momentum is relentless, each cliffhanger engineered to keep thumbs scrolling, and the food-world backdrop adds a fresh flavor to the familiar reunion trope.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the show delivers on its promises—the chemistry between Skylar and the CEO crackles, and the genius baby steals scenes with precocious charm. Audiences celebrate Skylar's agency; she's not merely a damsel, but a determined mother fighting for her culinary dream. The revenge arc, culminating in the public shaming attempt and the CEO's dramatic DNA-test reveal, satisfies the craving for justice. However, critics note pacing issues: the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings, and the villains' schemes become cartoonishly transparent. Some viewers found the melodrama over-the-top, yet that's precisely what many adore. The hidden-identity trope is executed with enough suspense to keep fans theorizing, though the resolution feels rushed in the final episodes.

For those who relish emotional, sentimental romance with a side of revenge and a dash of suspense, this drama justifies the coins and the binge. It's best suited for fans of genius-baby tropes and CEO romances who can overlook occasional pacing lulls. The satisfying wedding finale and Skylar's restaurant launch offer a heartwarming payoff, making it a replay-worthy guilty pleasure. If you're in for a melodramatic ride with a strong maternal heroine and a swoony gourmet hero, this one's a tasty treat.
