The New Intern is the CEO's Spoiled Wife

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is The New Intern is the CEO's Spoiled Wife Worth Your Time?

The New Intern is the CEO's Spoiled Wife opens with a premise that is pure catnip for vertical short drama fans: a seemingly ordinary intern who is secretly married to the company's CEO. From the first episode, the show hooks viewers with the thrill of hidden identity and the promise of a spectacular reveal. The early episodes build momentum through small, satisfying moments of dramatic irony—the intern's quiet confidence, the CEO's protective glances, and the scheming colleague's escalating attempts to undermine her. This setup creates an irresistible tension, making each short episode a quick dopamine hit that keeps audiences clicking for more.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core tropes, particularly the revenge and hidden identity arcs. Audiences celebrate the female lead's agency; she is not a passive victim but a strategic player who waits for the perfect moment to strike. The chemistry between the leads is often praised as electric, adding depth to their secret relationship. However, some viewers note that the middle episodes suffer from pacing issues, with repetitive misunderstandings and melodramatic confrontations that feel stretched. The betrayal by the colleague is effective, but the villains' schemes become predictable, and the eventual comeuppance, while satisfying, is seen as somewhat rushed. Still, the climax—where the intern reveals her shareholder status—is widely applauded for its empowering twist.

For those who relish a well-executed power fantasy with a side of romance, this drama is a worthwhile binge. It justifies the coins spent, especially for fans of the revenge and hidden identity genres who appreciate a female lead with brains and a satisfying takedown of her enemies. While it may not convert skeptics of the vertical format, its replay value is high for those who enjoy watching the tables turn. Best suited for viewers who crave quick, dramatic escapism with a strong heroine, this series is a solid addition to the MiniShort lineup.
