The Revenge of a Love Addict

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is The Revenge of a Love Addict Worth Your Time?

MiniShort's "The Revenge of a Love Addict" dangles a deliciously twisted premise: a woman who fakes love addiction to infiltrate the syndicate that destroyed her family. From the first episode, the show hooks viewers with its breakneck pacing and the promise of a long con, as our protagonist navigates a world of betrayal and hidden identities. The vertical format amplifies the tension, each cliffhanger daring you to swipe for the next revelation. It's the kind of pulpy, high-stakes revenge fantasy that short-form drama does best, and the early episodes deliver a rush of intrigue that keeps you glued to the screen.

Across forums like Reddit and MyDramaList, fans praise the protagonist's cunning and the satisfying slow-burn romance with her childhood love. The revenge trope is executed with gusto, and the hidden identity twist—revealing her fake addiction—lands as a clever midpoint shocker. However, consensus also flags pacing issues: some viewers feel the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings, and the melodrama occasionally tips into overkill. The chemistry between leads is a highlight, but the villains' cartoonishness undercuts the stakes. Still, the community celebrates the female lead's agency and the rare focus on trust and independence in the finale.

For those who relish a fast-paced revenge saga with a strong heroine, this drama justifies the coins. It's best suited for fans of vertical short-form who enjoy trope-heavy romance and don't mind a few pacing hiccups. Binge value is high—the episodes fly by—but replay value is moderate; the twists lose impact once known. If you're in for a guilty-pleasure ride with a satisfying comeuppance, this one's worth the swipe.
