Is The Ugly Duckling's Revenge and Comeback Worth Your Time?

NetShort's "The Ugly Duckling's Revenge and Comeback" wastes no time in hooking viewers with its tantalizing blend of supernatural revenge and underdog triumph. The premise—a betrayed woman reborn with succubus powers—immediately sets the stage for a deliciously satisfying ride. Across its 35 episodes, the drama maintains a brisk pace, doling out small victories and shocking reveals that keep audiences swiping for the next installment. The early episodes efficiently establish Mika's transformation from victim to empowered avenger, creating an irresistible narrative momentum that makes it easy to binge.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama excels in delivering cathartic revenge moments, particularly the climactic charity gala where Mika's public takedown of Chloe and Jackson is hailed as a standout scene. Fans appreciate Mika's agency and her choice of independence over romance, a refreshing departure from typical tropes. However, some viewers note that the middle episodes suffer from pacing issues, with repetitive misunderstandings and exaggerated melodrama that occasionally strain credulity. The chemistry between Mika and her love interest is often cited as underdeveloped, but the focus on female empowerment and the satisfying downfall of the villains largely compensates. The use of succubus powers is seen as a creative twist, though some find it conveniently overpowered.

Ultimately, "The Ugly Duckling's Revenge and Comeback" justifies its runtime for fans of revenge fantasies and strong female leads. While it may not convert skeptics of the genre, its brisk pacing, satisfying conclusion, and empowering message make it a worthwhile binge for those who enjoy underdog rise stories with a supernatural flair. The drama's replay value is moderate—the climax is rewatchable, but the middle sag drags. For viewers seeking a quick, cathartic fix, this NetShort offering delivers exactly what it promises.
