Is What? Young Star Chooses The Fat Girl! Worth Your Time?

MoboReels' "What? Young Star Chooses The Fat Girl!" hooks viewers with a tantalizing premise: a young star publicly chooses a plus-size contestant, only to reveal he secretly funded her fashion line and orchestrated the entire reality show to showcase her talent. From the first episode, the drama leans into the thrill of hidden intentions and the promise of a satisfying reveal, keeping audiences swiping for the next cliffhanger. The narrative momentum is relentless, as each short episode peels back layers of deception and builds toward the climactic live finale where Lin Chen's confession silences the mockers. It's a classic underdog setup with a twist, and the early episodes waste no time establishing the stakes and the chemistry between the leads.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList highlight a consensus that the drama excels in delivering cathartic revenge and heartwarming romance. Audiences celebrate Su Wan's journey from mocked contestant to confident entrepreneur, and the chemistry between her and Lin Chen is often praised as electric. The tropes are handled with knowing enthusiasm: the hidden identity of Lin Chen as secret benefactor adds a layer of intrigue, while the betrayal by rival Zhao Li and manager Wang Mei fuels satisfying comeuppance. However, some viewers note pacing issues in the middle episodes, where misunderstandings feel stretched thin, and the melodrama occasionally tips into overdrive. Yet, the community largely agrees that the villains' exposure and legal comeuppance provide a gratifying payoff, even if the path there is predictable.

For those who relish a bingeable mix of romance, revenge, and body-positive messaging, this drama justifies the coins. It's best suited for fans of vertical short dramas who appreciate a fast-paced underdog story with a swoon-worthy hero and a heroine who finds her voice. While the replay value may be moderate due to the straightforward plot, the emotional highs and satisfying conclusion make it a worthwhile watch. If you're in for a guilt-free, trope-filled ride with a satisfying finale, this one delivers.
