He Chose His Other Wife on Our Wedding Day

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is He Chose His Other Wife on Our Wedding Day Worth Your Time?

The premise of "He Chose His Other Wife on Our Wedding Day" is a masterclass in short-form provocation: a wedding day betrayal that instantly hooks viewers into a revenge fantasy. The early episodes waste no time establishing Victor's duplicity and Celia's humiliation, creating a visceral need for payback. The narrative momentum is relentless, with each cliffhanger engineered to keep thumbs scrolling and coins spending. It's the kind of setup that vertical drama fans devour—a clear injustice, a sympathetic underdog, and the promise of a delicious counterattack.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core tropes but with uneven execution. Fans celebrate Celia's transformation from victim to manipulator, praising her agency and the satisfying reveal of her amnesia act. The chemistry between Celia and Victor is toxic yet magnetic, fueling debates about whether he deserves redemption. However, audiences also note pacing issues: the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings, and Maisie's villainy borders on caricature. The hidden marriage twist and the car brake sabotage are praised for their shock value, but some find the legal and financial ruin of Victor too convenient. Overall, viewers appreciate the strong female lead and the getting-back-at-ex narrative, but wish for tighter writing and more nuanced side characters.

For those who relish a well-executed revenge fantasy with a strong female lead, this drama justifies the time and coins, especially if you binge it in one sitting. The climax is gratifying, and Celia's vindication feels earned. However, if you're allergic to melodrama or prefer complex character arcs, you might find the villains one-dimensional. Best suited for fans of "Counterattack" and "Underdog Rise" tropes, this is a guilty pleasure that delivers on its promises, even if it stumbles along the way. Replay value is moderate—once the twists are known, the thrill diminishes, but the journey is undeniably entertaining.
