Hidden Ace Saves Them All

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Hidden Ace Saves Them All Worth Your Time?

GoodShort's "Hidden Ace Saves Them All" opens with a tantalizing reborn-underdog premise: a legendary pilot, betrayed and forgotten, gets a second shot at redemption. The early episodes hook viewers with rapid-fire reveals and a simmering revenge plot, as the ace navigates a military hierarchy riddled with corruption. The 54-episode format allows for a slow-burn build toward the climactic live-fire exercise, where his true identity is broadcast nationwide. This narrative momentum, driven by patriotism and the promise of vindication, keeps audiences clicking episode after episode, even when the pacing occasionally stumbles.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama excels in trope execution, particularly the hidden identity and underdog rise arcs. Viewers celebrate the protagonist's unwavering agency and the satisfying downfall of the traitorous general, whose arrest on live television delivers a cathartic payoff. However, critics note that the melodrama can feel heavy-handed, with some subplots—like the assassin ring—feeling rushed in the final act. The chemistry between the ace and his squad is praised for its loyalty and camaraderie, though romantic elements are minimal. Overall, audiences appreciate the clear-cut morality and patriotic fervor, but some find the middle episodes sag due to repetitive misunderstandings and a lack of nuanced character development.

For those who relish military revenge fantasies with a supernatural twist, "Hidden Ace Saves Them All" justifies its runtime and coin investment. The drama is best suited for fans of underdog stories and patriotic themes who can overlook occasional pacing issues. While it may not offer deep rewatch value, the climactic reveal and satisfying villain takedown make it a binge-worthy ride for genre enthusiasts.
