My Janitor dad is the Alpha

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is My Janitor dad is the Alpha Worth Your Time?

The premise of "My Janitor dad is the Alpha" is a masterclass in vertical short drama bait: a humble janitor secretly ruling as the city's Alpha king, his daughter bullied, and a public gala where humiliation flips into spectacular revenge. From the first episode, the show hooks viewers with the promise of hidden power and imminent retribution, doling out small victories and cryptic hints that keep the narrative momentum brisk. It's the kind of setup that makes you instinctively lean in, waiting for the moment the mop drops and the claws come out.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core tropes—hidden identity, betrayal, and revenge—with satisfying efficiency. Audiences praise the father-daughter reconciliation and the stepmother's comeuppance, though some note the middle episodes drag with repetitive bullying and a few plot holes. The chemistry between the janitor and his loyal mate is a highlight, but critics point out that the Alpha lore is underdeveloped and the climax, while cathartic, feels rushed. Fans celebrate the live-broadcast arrest and public shaming as top-tier schadenfreude, but others wish the daughter had more agency beyond being a pawn. Overall, it's a guilty pleasure that knows its audience.

For those who crave over-the-top revenge with a supernatural twist, this 60-episode ride justifies the coins, especially if you binge the first ten and the last five. It's best suited for fans of urban counterattack dramas who don't mind melodrama and predictable beats. While not groundbreaking, it's a satisfying snack—just don't expect a full meal. Replay value is moderate; the climax is worth rewatching, but the middle sag makes a full rewatch unlikely.
