Regrets of the Don His Beloved Walked

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is Regrets of the Don His Beloved Walked Worth Your Time?

From its opening frames, "Regrets of the Don His Beloved Walked" hooks viewers with a tantalizing promise: a mafia don's regret and a beloved wife's revenge. The premise—Ivy, a loyal wife discarded for a manipulative mistress, discovering her husband's betrayal and plotting a spectacular public downfall—is pure catnip for vertical short drama fans. Early episodes waste no time establishing Alessio's cruelty and Ivy's quiet suffering, creating a delicious tension that propels viewers through the first act. The narrative momentum is relentless, each cliffhanger engineered to keep thumbs scrolling, and the lavish Vitale family setting adds a glossy, dangerous allure that makes the inevitable explosion all the more satisfying.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus: this is a guilty-pleasure binge that delivers on its toxic-love promise, though not without flaws. Fans celebrate Ivy's transformation from doormat to mastermind, cheering her calculated exposure of Hazel's pregnancy and Alessio's deception. The chemistry between Ivy and Alessio is electric, even as viewers root for her to leave him. However, critics note that the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings and Hazel's cartoonish villainy, while some find Alessio's regret arc too rushed to be believable. The revenge climax—a public recording played at a family gathering—earns unanimous praise for its cathartic payoff, but the aftermath feels glossed over, with Ivy's independent life summarized rather than shown.

Ultimately, "Regrets of the Don His Beloved Walked" is a satisfying if uneven ride. It justifies its 45-episode length for those who savor slow-burn revenge and don't mind a few detours into melodrama. Best suited for fans of mafia romance and betrayal narratives who enjoy watching a wronged heroine rise from the ashes, this drama offers high bingeability and a rewatchable climax. Just temper expectations for the middle stretch—the destination is worth the journey, even if the road has a few potholes.
