[ENG DUB] My Almighty Father

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is [ENG DUB] My Almighty Father Worth Your Time?

At first glance, "[ENG DUB] My Almighty Father" seems to promise yet another rags-to-riches tale, but its 93-episode sprint on GoodShort hooks viewers with a tantalizing twist: a female CEO whose hidden parentage is the ultimate trump card. The early episodes waste no time establishing the underdog struggle, drawing audiences into a world where boardroom betrayals and family secrets collide. The premise—a powerful father secretly watching over his daughter—adds an emotional layer to the familiar comeback narrative, and the rapid-fire pacing of vertical shorts ensures that each cliffhanger lands with maximum impact, keeping viewers swiping for the next reveal.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama's strength lies in its unabashed embrace of classic tropes. The female CEO's agency is a standout, with audiences cheering her strategic takedowns of scheming executives and jealous relatives. The chemistry between the lead and her loyal partner is often praised as a grounding force amid the melodrama, though some viewers note that the misunderstanding and betrayal arcs can feel stretched thin over 93 episodes. The boardroom showdown climax, where her identity is publicly exposed, is frequently cited as a satisfying payoff, but critics point out that the middle stretch suffers from repetitive conflicts and over-the-top villainy. Still, the community celebrates the cathartic arrests and the grand wedding finale, even as they acknowledge the pacing hiccups.

For those who relish a well-executed revenge fantasy with a familial twist, "My Almighty Father" delivers solid entertainment, though it may test the patience of viewers seeking tighter storytelling. The drama is best suited for fans of underdog rise and female CEO tropes who don't mind a few detours into melodrama. With its binge-friendly episode length and a finale that ties up loose ends, it offers decent replay value for genre enthusiasts, but casual viewers might find the 93-episode commitment daunting. It's a guilty pleasure that mostly justifies the coins spent, provided you're in it for the journey rather than the destination.
