The Hidden Plus-Sized Luna Queen

EDITORIAL REVIEW / CRITIC'S TAKE

Is The Hidden Plus-Sized Luna Queen Worth Your Time?

NetShort's "The Hidden Plus-Sized Luna Queen" opens with a premise that feels engineered for the vertical drama audience: a plus-sized heroine, a cruel ex-fiancé, and a curse that hides her true power. The early episodes hook viewers by leaning into the underdog fantasy—Lirael's quiet suffering and the clan's casual cruelty create a simmering tension that demands payback. The narrative momentum builds steadily as hints of her ice wolf spirit and the looming eclipse promise a spectacular reversal, keeping viewers swiping for the next episode.

Community discussions across Reddit and MyDramaList reveal a consensus that the drama delivers on its core tropes, particularly the karma payback and the satisfying reveal of Lirael's true form. Audiences celebrate her agency in the climactic "Now! My turn" moment and the chemistry with the shirtless warrior Lucian, though some note that the middle episodes drag with repetitive misunderstandings and melodramatic padding. The hidden identity trope is handled with a refreshing twist—Lirael's plus-sized form is not a flaw but a source of power—which resonates with viewers seeking body-positive representation. However, critics point out that the villains are cartoonishly one-dimensional and the pacing falters before the eclipse climax.

Ultimately, this drama justifies its coin cost for fans of underdog rise and revenge fantasies. It's best suited for viewers who enjoy watching a wronged heroine embrace her true self and mete out justice with a side of romance. While the production values are typical of the vertical format, the emotional payoff and the empowering message make it a binge-worthy watch, especially for those who appreciate a satisfying, if predictable, conclusion.
